Esperanza, or Tecoma stans, and Pride of Barbados, Caesalpinia pulcherrima
Both seed grown, both in their second summer.
Cold kills them back to the ground in this climate,
but they come back readily.

The up side of awful August weather is that tropical plants thrive in heat and humidity.

    Why is my 'Brocaded Gown' not blooming? Bummer...
