Was That a Weed I Pulled?

I tucked seeds of Tithonia here and there around the garden amongst things like Saliva leucantha, for fall bloom.

Now that some have managed to escape my notice and grow up to recognizable size, I realize that I've pulled up some of them thinking they were cockleburs or some other weed!

  1. All of us been there.
    Many a time.

  2. Uh - o! I've pulled up wrong things before.

The red hot poker over in your side bar is pretty, I use to have a lot of them. No one has them planted in my neighborhood.

Also, I am wondering if you (or anyone else reading your blog) might know what kind of tree this is:

    Late Afternoon Colors

I like the red colored limbs!

I look forward to comments and questions and lively discussion of gardening and related ideas.
