Miss Lillian and I went to open house at Ichauway Plantation, once owned by Coca-Cola magnate Robert Woodruff. The plantation now houses the Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center, one of the largest outdoor research centers in the world. Scientists study local vegetation, water systems, and wildlife, including 32 species of endangered plants and animals found on the plantation.

In subsequent posts I'll show some of the native plants at the plantation. Our friend Susie is the Lead Landscaper.

  1. I like your collage. That looks like a fun place to go.

I look forward to comments and questions and lively discussion of gardening and related ideas.
