White Roses: a Corsage and a Memory

I picked white rosebuds from 'White Dawn' last evening and hardened them in a cup of hot water before assembling a simple corsage. I found a part roll of silk ribbon, once pink, now faded, from Kathy's Aunt Etta's long ago flower shop, enough to make a little bow.

It reminded me of how 'New Dawn' roses always bloomed in time for Mother's Day, which Mama wore in Memory of her mother. I wore a little spray of some wild red floribunda.

  1. What a lovely corsage you made Nell. Hope your Mother's Day was a lovely one.

  2. Absolutely lovely ... we carry our memories with us forever. Hope your day was filled with love :)

I look forward to comments and questions and lively discussion of gardening and related ideas.
