Curiosity about Taxonomy

An article in the NY Times today, by Carol Yoon, referred by Steve Silk, speaks to my need to know the names of my plants and other things in the natural world.

"The past few decades have seen a stream of studies that show that sorting and naming the natural world is a universal, deep-seated and fundamental human activity, one we cannot afford to lose because it is essential to understanding the living world, and our place in it." -- Carol Yoon

Reviving the Lost Art of Naming the World

Always a reader, not a real writer, I crave to know what others know. Forgetful, I have to look up things over and over. Knowing families of plants helps in finding those lost names.
