Sunday Surprises

I don't know how I overlooked that Red Cascade roses were about to bloom:

A Blue Bottle Tree forms a great trellis for a trailing rose.

A handful of blossoms: clockwise from upper left: Poppy, Coreopsis, White Dawn rose, Seven Sisters rambling rose, Rose de Rescht and
flowering Pomegranate.

White Dawn was a surprise. I didn't expect those buds to open before Mother's Day. A good climber with shiny dark green leaves and few pests.

Southern Magnolia's first blooms have incredible fragrance.

These are in the view from my kitchen window. Pink Spiraea bumalda, a summer fav.

When the pink blossoms fade, a haircut rejuvenates the shrubs and brings on another flush of bloom.
